Common questions

Frequently asked

The photo scan isn’t detecting my groceries

Good lighting and a clear, straight-on shot work best — open the fridge door fully or lay items out on a counter so labels are visible. Very dark, blurry, or steeply angled photos are hard to read.

Scans need an internet connection. If it still comes back empty on a clear photo, you may have reached your daily scan limit — it resets the next day, or you can add items by hand anytime.

How do I edit or remove an item the scan got wrong?

Every scan opens a review screen before anything is saved. You can rename, adjust the quantity, or delete any item there. Nothing is added to your kitchen until you confirm — you’re always in control of what’s listed.

How do I manage or cancel my Premium subscription?

Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID. To view, change, or cancel, open the iOS Settings app, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, and select Fridge-Ify.

Switched devices or reinstalled the app? Use Restore Purchases on the Premium screen to bring your subscription back.

How do I delete my account and my data?

Open your Profile, then Account. You can export a copy of your data or permanently delete your account there. Deleting removes your inventory, saved recipes, and personal information from our servers.

Why doesn’t a recipe show as “ready to cook”?

A recipe is marked ready only when everything it needs is in your kitchen. If you’re missing an item or two, it still appears with the gaps listed, plus any substitutions you already have on hand. Keeping your inventory up to date makes matching more accurate.

Your data

Privacy Policy

Last updated July 10, 2026

Fridge-Ify helps you track what’s in your kitchen and cook with it. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have. We keep it short and in plain language on purpose.

What we collect

  • Your account — the email address you sign up with, used to secure your account and sign you in.
  • Your kitchen data — the items, recipes, shopping lists, ratings, and cooking activity you create in the app. This is the app’s core function and is tied to your account.
  • Photos you scan — when you scan groceries, a fridge, or a receipt, the image is sent securely to our AI vision provider to identify items. Photos are processed to return results and are not used to train models or sold to anyone.
  • Basic app diagnostics — limited technical information needed to keep the service running and troubleshoot problems.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t sell your personal information.
  • We don’t use your photos or kitchen data for advertising.
  • We don’t require access to contacts, location, or anything the app doesn’t need to work.

Purchases

Premium subscriptions are handled by Apple and our subscription provider (RevenueCat). We receive your subscription status to unlock features — we never see or store your payment card details.

Where your data lives

Your data is stored on our backend provider’s secure servers (Supabase) and protected so that only you can access your own kitchen. We retain it for as long as your account is active.

Your controls

  • Export — download a copy of your data from Profile › Account.
  • Delete — permanently remove your account and data from the same screen.
  • Ask us anything — email us with any privacy request and we’ll help.

Children

Fridge-Ify is intended for general audiences and is not directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes

If we update this policy, we’ll revise the date above. Material changes will be communicated in the app.
